This is a project into its second year now so it may have been posted before, but apparently not recently. MSF (Doctors Without Borders) are running a project where designers post free knitting patterns and people who download them can pick how much they think they would pay for that pattern, plus what their enjoyment of knitting it is worth, and donate. They're a great organisation and I think this is a really clever project. Sadly I am a card-carrying crocheter and can't knit to save my - or anyone else's - life, but I'll drop this here for knitters to view:

I'm pretty sure MSF would still take your donation, even if you crocheted an item rather than knitting it!

I have made the Cranford Mitts once already - they WERE a pleasure to knit, so I will be sending in a donation. Some of the scarves look interesting, too. Thanks for the link.
