Hi Smiley

I want to knit the above hat but i'm terrible with DPN's so i was wondering if i could knit it "flat" (just by following the instructions) then sew it to make it round?  (I know it would have a seam).

Is this possible?

Thanks <3

I couldn't access the pattern, but yes, you can convert knit in the round items to be knit flat, just be sure to add two stitches at the edges for the seam to go.  I can't give more specific instructions with this, because I can't access the pattern.

Also-- knitting on dpns only looks intimidating: when it comes down to it, you are still knitting with only 2 needles and the other needles are just holding stitches for you.  There are also other ways to knit small diameters that are easy and some people like these methods better than dpns: magic loop, modified magic loop and 2 circulars.  Knittinghelp.com has great tuts for these, you should give it a whirl!

This pattern is actually knit flat all the way and sewn up at the end, so this is probably what you're looking for.
