Oh poppet, how you thwart me!

Hi all!  This little gal sailed across the ocean to live with Averyg.  It all started with the Poppet Mini Swap 2. Averyg made Alice in Wonderland for me after I received the Mad Hatter.  She really liked the poppet I made and said it reminded her of a cross between Esmerelda and Pirates of the Carribbean.   Taking those cues, I did some online research and based her loosely on Calypso, the witch.  When all was done, she needed company on her travels, so I sent a little monkey friend along with her.

Here's the link to the Poppet Along: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=205341.0

And now on with more pics. Front and side views.

In her undergarment, edged with lace at bottom and sleeves. Underneath is a black crinoline and turquoise blue lacy panties... can't find a pic of that folks, sorry. Sad

Thanks for looking, Q's & C's always welcome!

Wow!! She's lovely!!  WHere do you get the eyes?? I'm assuming they're the paint-your-own, but I can never find any.

You did a fantastic job and I love her!!

she is adorable. and the monkey is great.  He must have been fiddly.  Actually the whole thing looks like it took ooddles of patience.

i want to make another poppet, but I am procrastinating as it was sooo fiddly last time (not helped by the fact I made Deema out of suede and not stretchy fabric).

Thanks blossom1044. I had to redo the monkey's face because I cut the chin out at an angle and it stretched funny.  I know how you feel about "fiddly" - I find that flannel was easier because it didn't shift as much.  And it's easier the 2nd time around, so go for it!
Thanks beth8144, I had fun with the hair, using 3 different yarns. It was nice sewing each piece straight onto her head - better for controlling the look. Wink  I really wanted to make her a kimono because she looked like one of those Japanese lion warrior guys, haha!

This is AMAZING!! I'm wisting---immediately! And I'm also curious.... do you have a link or a store name where I can buy/"borrow" the body pattern? I see so many of these wonderful poppets and I want to make some for my girls! XD Anything is helpful.
Oh, and the Cheshire cat and the Sweeny Todd poppet you made are Wisted too.....you're amazingly talented. I smell a personal swap in the future...muehehehehe.... Cool
