My sister is currently serving a mission for our church. She's been having a hard time lately, and her birthday was coming up so I thought I'd send her a present. I thought she could use a friend so I made her a mini poppet version of herself.

So here she is complete with name tag. Unfortunately it was too small to actually write on. I shrunk the pattern down to 70% so my sister could carry her around easier when she moves.

(My camera battery is dead and one of my children ran off with the charger so I had to use my cell phone. Sorry for the blurriness.)

Cute! I really like those little round ears, I'll have to give those a try myself sometime.

Great job! I love the little green top you made her. Sewing clothes for smaller dolls is a lot harder than for larger ones. How long has your sis been out, and where is she serving?

Thanks. Figuring out the top was a little tricky, but I like how it turned out.

She's been out for a year now and is serving in the California, Arcadia mission.

You did a  really good job.  Where do you find patterns for poppets? Would love to try one myself.

To get the pattern you can go to the poppet along here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=205341.0
There is a link to ghilie's blog where you can get the pattern. There's also links to a lot of other useful poppet information. Plus the people who hang out over there are super nice and willing to help out if you need it.
