This is a bag I made for a young girl for Christmas 2009 and I'm just getting around to posting it.

It was made from a pair of jeans that had been worn by her Grandmother and a couple of very similar paisley fabrics (if you look closely you can tell).
This is a closeup of the machine embroidery on the front flap of the bag. The lime green accents are in cotton thread with the rest done in rayon 40 wt.

and a closeup of the name piece on the flap. All of the embroidery took 5 hoopings.

This is the back of the bag. The pockets are usable and the button fly has been lined to be used as a pocket too.

This is the inside has a full-sized pocket made from the elasticized part of a sundress fabric (the kind that makes a dress with only one seam) and a pocket made from one of the back pockets from the jeans with "Jeans lovingly worn by Grandma Goofy" stitched on it.

She recently told me she doesn't know what to use the bag for. She thought using it as a bookbag would be too hard on it. Teenagers....  Huh

Those would be cute to make for diaper bags.  Maybe even using a pair of mom's maternity jeans would work.

Thanks for inspiring me!

Wow, that looks even better than some of the bags I see at the mall! Great job! I'm hitting *this rocks* Smiley

Perhaps it can be used as a small carry-on bag or an overnight bag for sleepovers and the like?
