Monster high skull shrinky dink jewelry-My first craft posting so be gentle
I'm relatively new to using shrinky dinks as jewelry so of course I'm using alot until
the novelty wears off...hopefully Smiley

Right now I'm in to Monster High which I'm finding not alot of people have heard of yet but
Matel has come out with products of the characters-which are creepy cute!
and I took their skull logo and changed it to purple (I'm adverse to the color pink)

I know the instructions say not to use markers but I used a permanent marker for the black and
it didnt run or bleed during the process, I thought it made it look bold

the eyes kinda look like they have eyelashes at the ends,
the chain was attached to a multistrand necklace so I liberated it for this project

forgive the picture quailty too!

I want to do the school crest next!

they look great.  by the way...i use permanent markers all the time.  i think they mean water soluble markers which will run when they get wet.  alcohol ink based markers (permanent markers) are great for shrink projects!  Smiley

The instructions say not to use marker?!  I use sharpie for every shrinkie dink thing I've ever done.  But I've noticed it can either a)stick to the vellum top page I put on when it bakes or b)still show fingerprints, so I seal them with a thin coat of mod podge....but then, I seal everything with mod podge, LoL.

i have no idea what the shrinkie dink brand says but i just looked at the packaging for the polyshrink brand that i use and it recommends prismacolor markers, which are just fancy sharpies.  heh.

anyhow, not to hijack your thread on about markers and shrink plastic...again these are a very cute set.  id totally wear them.  Wink  shrink plastic is so much fun!

I totally appreciate tips about the markers, lol will be investing in more colored sharpies.

I use brown paper bag to bake on and haven't had anything stick. I use mod podge to seal everthing too!

That set is so cute!  I keep looking for Monster High accessories for my daughter (she Frankie, Clawdeen, Draculara and Lagoona for her 11th birthday)  I found some shirts and a lunch box at Justice but that place is so expensive.....
She would totally wear those, great job! Love them!!

Just to forewarn you, the excitement of shrinky dinks never really wears off. You may put them away for a month but when you see them as you dig for something else, you get all spaztastic and grab out your sharpies and colored pencils and you just HAVE to make something. Or, you will see another post on here about someone else's shrinky dink projects, and you have the same urge of "I need to shrinky dink right now!" lol

Anywho, I love shrinky dink and I love anything skullies (right now I am wearing my skully pajama bottoms and my goonies shirt with a big skully on it) and I love shrinky dinks-great job!
