This is my first try at making my own pattern. I wanted to do a crochet cupcake purse that didnt cinch at the top.

There is a Velcro closure between the stuffed frosting top and the cake purse bottom.

I added sprinkle beads to the top.

I'm thinking of adding a plastic canvas insert in the next one to firm up the bottom and help it keep its shape after putting stuff inside.

Hit "this rocks". Cheesy

Is this a pattern all your own, or one that you modified?

Thanks!

It's all mine. When I couldn't find a pattern that worked up the way I wanted I tried to make one myself.

What I'm learning about crochet is that it's SO much easier to do that than it is with knitting.
If I may ask, what did you use for the edges of the frosting on top? It doesn't look quite like a more wavy-type stitch, which is what I would try. Looks a lot more dense than that would make.

I used DC for the frosting ruffle. I wanted it to be nice and firm so it wouldn't snag on things that a bag might bump into.
