I am going to be down in Houston (specifically Conroe, just outside of Houston) for a couple months this fall.  It is my first time travelling there and I am definitely NOT familiar with the city at all (I'm from Canada).

I'm wondering where the best yarn stores are.  I'm interested in learning how to spin my own yarn, but have yet to find a store that sells the wool.  Is there a special place to get spinning wool? Are there any other great craft stores in Houston I should check out?

Thanks in advance!!

There is a fantastic shop called The Hen House on Louetta, just west of IH-45.  Stephanie and her husband Ralph are very knowledgeable, have great taste and have tons and tons of samples on hand.  There's room to sit down and work on a project.

It's not too far from Conroe, and I think it's worth the trip.
