This is my second polymer clay project.  My first was 15 years ago when I made some play food with my daughter when she was young.  I had a clay play day yesterday with my friend Lora Mahaffey, an extremely gifted artist who is currently working in polymer clay.  I made this shrine using the techniques she taught me.  It's going to my daughter, for her cat Binx.  It's made of stamped white polymer clay 'tiles' that have been painted and coated with mica powders.  It's mounted on a painted 3"x5" wooden base and is embellished with seed beads, crystals, a metal heart and a vintage flower button.  Lora got me hooked on this medium, I now need my own clay setup.  Must. Get. Supplies.

I love it! Very pretty! I think your daughter will think so too!  Love the colors and the use of the polymer clay. You should feel very proud of your second project!

Love, love, love your tiles!  And the colors are beautiful and soft together too.  So much fun to do something too where each little tile, etc., is different but still can be a nice unit--like a kid in a toy shore.  (I thought at first the black metal art deco frame was clay too!--oh, maybe it is?).

Lots of stamp/impression type things can be found around the house, yard, or hardware store, etc., though and they're all free! (some of my favorites are combs, scrunched foil, and faces from my son's tiny play figures).

Thanks so much you guys!  The little frame is clay.  I'm not much of a yard sale person but think I need to start.  I already know what I want to do for the next one.  This medium is soooo addictive.
