I was so crazy excited about this cool tutorial, that I *had* to try it!

Here's a crappy quality cell phone pic of the result. It's a first try, but so far so good. I may re-do it making thread group all black and the other brown instead of black/brown for the first thread group and black/khaki for the second thread group) What are your thoughts on that?

I'm in the process of making a "prize" for a book-related website (i.e., The Hunger Games), and this tutorial you posted was the ideal compliment for a pendant (a 4" replica of a claw of an evil creature from the book) I'd made. The chain with the braided fiber is organic looking yet "tough". It was perfect. I've been struggling with what to use for a neck strap for it, and your post was JUST the ticket.

Thanks again for your generosity to the craftster community for posting such a great tutorial.

I'm so so so glad you posted a picture. It's awesome to see other people's versions. Plus I think it's so great you were able to benefit from my tutorial somehow and I could indirectly help you with the neck strap you need to make Cheesy That's great news for me! Glad you enjoyed it Smiley

I have a tutorial list I'm constantly updating for this category, and I would LOVE to include your tute for this Smiley  Even though most people know how to braid, including that basic info and a little bit of text about the tricky part you managed to work through would be wonderful!  I'll check back later and hope to add you in!

Of course, go right ahead! And yes the whole braiding around each link of chain was a bit strange to figure out at first but once you get a hang of it, its a piece of cake. Since the chain is pretty much the third strand! I can re-edit it to include all of the text Smiley

I'll do that in an hour or so! (I have to finish some things around the house real quick haha)

This is so awesome I'm going to have to make one tomorrow... I'm excited!  Yours is so much better than the original I think.  If I was paying $300+ for a bracelet I wouldn't want it to be connected by what looks like a flimsy gold paper clip.  I like the little dangly bits you added on yours much more.

Wow, that is really pretty!
I think it would be great to use that as a strap for a bag!
