Thanks Frau Shizzle!  I used paper-backed fusible web. I just used the regular stuff, but I believe you can get a very lightweight type for sheer fabrics too. Of course, you can't apply the iron directly to synthetic organza, so I used a clean linen teatowel as a press cloth. Also - make sure you turn the steam off. I had it hot enough to stick, but it wouldn't stand up to wear (no problem for an art piece of course). Once I'd done most of the stitching, it didn't matter if it didn't stay firmly stuck.  Hope that's helpful.
