I've always thought that birds have the most beautiful skeletons of animal animals that I have seen yet. So imagine my delight, when, walking home one day, I found, sleeping gently upon the mulch, a bird corpse with very little of the flesh and feathers remaining. I ran to the safeway to get some disinfectant and gloves, and, to the amusement of passersby, spent a good hour in front of the safeway peeling the remaining flesh off of the departed dear. Ah... but what was this? The disinfectant was dissolving the bone! I quickly pulled it out of the now-grimy liquid, and lo! in the thinner sections of the skelly, the bone had become translucent! I was stunned by the beauty, and so, of course, I had to it on my head (because god knows, my head needs all the help it can get.) The result lies below.

I think I LOVE this! I too have a thing for bird skeletons. Bonus points for cleaning your find in front of the safeway!

How strangely beautiful. I never would have thought of this and if I had, never would have executed it so well. LOVELY!

The bird skeleton is beautiful, and you complemented it really well with your design choices.  I absolutely love it!

Wow. This is . . . how can I put this . . . morbidly beautiful, maybe? Tongue It is a fantastic piece, very Tim Burton/Corpse Bride-ish. It's almost got an antique vibe with the colors and the jeweled flowers. I love it. Smiley
