May the Crochet Force be with YOU!-->YODA!

Hi all! I am new to crochet (one pot holder, 2 scarfs, and one hedgehog) and am a member of a site called swap-bot where you sign up to swap items with people all over the world. For one of my swaps, my partner was a huge star wars fan.
 
PLEASE BE KIND! This is the first thing that I have crocheted without a pattern to go by. I don't have safety eyes or any where locally that I can buy them so his eyes are made from beads. You, unfortunately, can see the brown thread that I sewed them on with but had no idea how to hide them.

I don't know if my partner likes him yet as Yoda has had to travel from KY to Germany and apparently it can take up to 30 days to receive there.

****UPDATE****
My partner emailed me and said that the Yoda was LOVED! She states that the little guy has made a trip to the parents house and received approval from them and the tooth pick walking stick has had to be replaced already because of too much play! I would say he is a hit!

I attempted to crochet upper and lower eyelids to make the more puffy look of the movie Yoda and I stitched a mouth on him but both looked jankie and so I removed them and just went with eyes. I could not find a twig small enough to fit the tight stitches. I wanted to make a life saber and walking stick out of sculpey but ran out of time trying to figure out the face.

Open to any C&C or advise as to how to possibly improve the face. I want to make another Yoda and a Darth Vader for my daughter to give to her father next X-mas so Please tell me how to make it the best gift she can give him!

First of all, He's awesome!!! Yoda is my favorite jedi.

Comments, To make the eyelids puffier try adding a few stiches (like 2 or 3) on the row above where you want the eyes. Increase in the same stich then on the next round (where the eye goes) decrease. and to make the thread not show sew the buttons on before you stuff him, or If you use a shank button and the hole is big enough you can crochet it right in.

I'm not a huge star wars fan... but I have always had a fondness for yoda just because he looks so cute lol and your version does not disappoint on that fact. I think you did a great job, he is way too cute!!

A Star Wars fan, I am NOT!.....but Yoda is a mighty cute little green man. He was really easy to make too!

This is the coolest! My husband loves Star Wars so I HAD to check this out! It is so awesome-great job! I would love to do something like this, but unfortunatly have not the slightest idea about crocheting. Keep up the great work!
