giant sushi maki cake

Here's another homemade fondant cake I made for my mom's birthday back in March. She likes sushi a lot. The "seaweed wrapper" and the "fish" are made from the fondant. the "rice" is dessicated coconut. The cake itself uses three or four round cake pans, enough to give it height.



usually you sift the powdered sugar to make it smooth but I didn't do it this time around to give the wrapper texture.. yeah that's why I did it.. I didn't forget or anything.. good thing it turned out better that way
