Man oh man, theres so many awesome swaps starting!  Im still a newbie when it comes to embroidery but, I really enjoy it even though I dont know any fancy stitches.  Im really tempted to do this one because it sounds really fun.  And, money wise its perfect for my budget.  Seeing as I already have embroidery supplies and mailing it would be pretty cheap.

Haha! Same here. I even have a small hoop that would be perfect if I don't buy another. Cheesy Yay for fun, but inexpensive swaps!

It isn't fair that this swap is suddenly in existance!   Shocked  I'm in the Mini 13 days of Halloween swap and I was going to wait to do another swap until the WWP: Samhain swap...  but...  this is embroidery!  I have to come to love and really appreciate good embroidery!  And I was in the LYS today where they recently started carrying Sublime Stitch patterns!  I may have to cave and join this.  School starts 5 days after the sign-ups close.  Oh the decisions!

Grin Kiss  Thanks for the encouragement, everyone!  As soon as I can get feedback to open up a swap slot, I'm sending in my questionnaire!

I adore that picture of all the hoops on the wall, I would love to have something like that in my bedroom. I'll be sending in my questionnaire a bit later on Smiley

Very interesting.. I do have a hard time finding proper hoops where I live (still haven't found any besides the standard ones), and hard to find online as well.
I'll try to find some hoops and aida/other fabric, which is hard as well. The web shop I usually order from doesn't exist anymore. If I find all the supplies, I'll definitely join Cheesy

stitchFIGHT, what hoops are you looking for besides the standard ones?  I was just going to use a regular wooden one.  Cross stitch can be done on things like linen or any other fabric with a loose weave.  Embroidery can be done on pretty much anything Smiley  Good luck on finding supplies!

This swap is timed perfectly for me- I just placed an order for new patterns and a book, so hopefully I'll have lots of inspiration!

I was thinking the same thing.  You could actually use a repurposed solid colored piece of clothing to get enough fabric for several embroidery projects.  Hmmm.... haven't thought of doing that before, I may have to try it myself.

True, I used to do embroidery on my jeans, but these days I prefer cross stitch over embroidery. I was never good at it anyway...

I did find a shop online with tons of fabric choice. I've hear it can take quite a while for a order to arrive though. I'm going to give it a shot anyway, I just used up my last piece of black aida for another swap. White aida shouldn't be too hard to find.
