I can't wait to make this phone case!

I ordered Lion Brand Polar Spun in Mango Punch last week- I'm planning to make a v. cozy hat and mittens (or maybe wristwarmers), but I should have plenty left for a great monster case!

Just as soon as that durned order arrives....

You can increase by knitting into the front and back of a stitch.  This is abbreviated as kfb (knit front and back), and I'm pretty sure that's covered under the basic knitting instructions in SNB Nation (I don't have it handy; if someone else does could you please post the page number?).

It's really a matter of your own personal preference - you could also do a m1 (make one), which is also called a lifted bar increase.  Again, instructions are in the book.

Have fun and post a photo when you've finished!

I knitted my monster cozy at lunch today! It's flat right now, but I'm a proud (nearly) finished object momma!

I think that he's going to get two big eyes, and a little nose... I might just have to add ears and a triangle spine- when I fold the fabric up around my phone, he's looking a lot like a dragon!

I'm not even sure if I came near the pattern from SNBN, I just cast on the right height, knit till it was wide enough to add the flap- cast on that many more (er, shoulda done that first, and cast off to knit the rest of the width, ah well, live and learn!) then cast off the 'tab' length again, then knit one more row. It's all garter stitch!

I used Berroco Plush Colors in Tie Dye, and knit it flat, but on my new size 9 Addi Turbos.

Ok, I ended up making it more like a mini-purse, instead of a monster... I think my mp3 player cozy will be a dragon, though!
