My 3 guys are gonna be joined by a baby in March!

Hello there, My name is Oskar. I am a scientist, and yes, I have been called mad.

As you can see, I wear a lab coat, vest, shirt, pants, and even a little tie. Only proper, after all!

Do you like my boots? They fasten up the back.

What, the covered jar behind me? Why, there's no brain in that, don't be silly!

It appears that my pocketwatch proclaims it is time to die. Rest easy, my friends, I'll make it quick!

A note of explanation, including the tragic tale of my laboratory!

All buttoned up. Well, I was lying about the brain. Anyone want to play doctor?

Oskar was sent to tracethekat for our Poppet/Ami swap. He boasts posable fingers, faux fur hair, hand painted, black and grey eyes, boots that fasten with velcro up the back, a shrinkydink skull charm watch fob, and a clay brain in a jar.
I loved him, and miss him already. I hope he is happy living with tracethekat. (He was talking about switching brains, but I think he was playing. Right?

Hope you like!

I love personal swaps, I currently need art (paintings or something to hang on a wall) but I'd be up for anything.

Eee! His hair is perfect for a mad scientist and the goggles are adorable. Good job with the lab coat as well! Also, what's a mad scientist without a brain in a jar? (Unless they're not evil and/or experimenting on people I suppose, but that's rare and strange.)

Should I be surprised that you're still making poppets? No. He has so much character! I love all the little details, and you're so good at making up quirky stories for your dolls!

water bottle caps with the center removed. The lenses are cut (melted) from a jewel case, then I used elastic for the strap, and jewelry things to keep the lenses in.
Turned out a lot better than I thought they would, I'm so making more!

Oskar has so much personality - where would we be without mad scientists, eh? Tongue I especially love his goggles and boots, and his hair is absolutely perfect, too. Your post describing him just tops off the whole package perfectly. Smiley

I've never quite been able to figure out how to best use synthetic fur for hair on dolls - if you don't mind my asking, how did you make and attach his hair?

It started out as a sample about 3x5
I smooshed it on his head and trimmed lil triangles off the back corners, under his ears. Cut a dart in the very back.
I cut lil slits near the front and pulled his ears through, then i stitched it to his head. Still needed something, so I took a triangle I'd trimmed off, and gave him a widow's peak.
I love the way it turned out.

Hope this made sense (I've had some serious lack of sleep time this week! Working on an addition to the house!!)
