After a friend and I shared an obsession with Paul, the psychic octopus who successfully predicted all of Germany's matches in the World Cup and the final, i decided to knit her an octopus of her own. The pattern came from a book, Amigurumi Knits by Hansi Singh, and it was so great I can't wait to knit more of her patterns. The octopus' legs have pipe cleaners inside them so that they can be twisted however you want. Smiley

I love that this project was inspired by the soccer predicting octopus!

You really did a great job on this! I especially love the pipe cleaner legs. I have the Amigurumi Knits book and I know this is a challenging pattern - cheers to you for finishing it so successfully!

What pattern do you plan to try next from the book?

Not sure yet - I'm rather taken with the Loch Ness Monster. Have you tried many?

Paul, you are so cute!!! I just want to hug and squish you!!!

You know, I've seen several knits from this book and I have to say: I'm impressed.  I seldom buy knitting books, but I think I will have to procure this one!

Thanks for sharing!

Oh yes - I really like the Loch Ness Monster too! I've made the Kraken, the Angler Fish and the Carrot. I think I want to try the Hermit Crab next or possibly the Jackalope.

striker - definitely check out the book. The patterns are challenging but fun and the shaping techniques are really neat!
