Grouting is intimidating, but after trying it for the first time today, it needen't be!  What an easy and satisfying aspect of mosaicing.  Charcol grout on the pub table.

WHOOPS: This one is sideways.

So, I whipped up this mosaic table top for the pub table in the kitchen this week.  It needs to dry for a few days before I grout it with a charcol colored grout.

That table looks amazing!  I love it!  My hubby is a fan of dark (i.e. - kinda boring) colors and he's having to learn how to deal with the vibrancy of all the colors I love so much!  Like that table.  A table like that would be most welcome in our home.   Cheesy  I can't wait to see the finished project!

I love that table! I've only ever did mosaic on picture frames as big projects scared me. This makes me want to do something bigger Smiley

How are you attaching the tiles to the table? I have glass glue that I use on windows and things, but I've never mosaic-ed something like this! This is great!

I used tile cement actually. Spread it on generously, use a forked trowel to wipe some off, then lay the tiles on and viola!

Another way to do this is to use contact paper and lay the tiles face down on the contact paper making the reverse design.  Then cement your table and flip the contact paper over onto the cement, push the tiles down into the cement and wait for it to cure for 24-48 hours, then gently remove the contact paper and grout.  It is easy!
