Hi all! This is my very first post here, I've been lurking for a couple weeks. This bag is soooooo cool, I actually obsessed over it so much I ended up having to dig out fabric and set it out before I went to bed so I could sleep!  Roll Eyes THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR THE TUTE!! I'm so into this bag. I saw it at a concert last month and wanted one really bad! A friend got one much like it from a super expensive store ($230).  Huh I'll post my pic when I figure this board out! I added a little flower because it needed something .

Okay I FINALLY figured out how to post pictures...I think. Here is my Hobo bag, made from some of my favorite, really loud ping and green plaid. I also added a little flower, just cause I liked it! LOL

I think my fabric could have been stiffer, but I really like it! Gonna do one in courderoy or some other heavy fabric next...

This is my favorite purse tutorial. So great! And I love that there's a zipper closure.

So here is my version.... I had some trouble with straps. I kind of made it up at the end. However I am really happy with the results...

i'm glad everyone's gotten a lot of use out of this tutorial! i can't believe how many people have tried it out! how wonderful!

i was in the middle of making another one for a friend and completely forgot to take pictures during the part where i added the strap (someone had asked for clearer instructions) so i'm sorry i dont have "how to" pictures for this one i made, but i'll be making another one today i think so i'll try and remember. here's a new one i made last night...

i used metallic vinyl. it's my first time with this material and it's kind of tricky. my machine is on it's last spool of thread i think....it's gonna die soon the way i abuse it with all these thick materials..haha. anyway, it turned out okay. it needs improvement...the fabric got a little twisted in some parts. it was really difficult to sew if the right side was exposed to the machine at all because it caused too much friction and wouldnt move throught the machine at all. the applique with the heart was applied with a piece of trace paper on top to avoid bunching and friction so that part took FOREVER to finish because afterwards i had to tear all the trace paper off. ugh. anyway...sorry for the novel. hope you guys like it!

hey i ***LOVE*** the purse, especially the metallic vinyal one!!!

i was wondering:
could you post some tips/instructions on how to get the effects you use like the stitching over the heart on your metallic one (this board) or the scrap swirls from your pink hobo bag board?
i really want to make one like one of those because they are so cute & unique so any tips would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
***GREAT WORK!!***

This is the PERFECT shape that I've been looking for for-freaking-ever!
And, it was deliciously easy to do!  Thanks so much!
