OK, so I've been in Italy this summer and have become obsessed with Catholic imagery and symbolism, especially the saints. My favorite is Saint Sebastian, who is always depicted shot full of arrows, so I decided to cast this massive Saint Sebastian double-ring. I carved the whole thing out of wax and cast it in shibuichi, a mixture of copper and silver. I guess now if I walk through a dark parking lot, Sebastian will be literally protecting me  Roll Eyes

Kickin' ass Catholic style! Forgive my grody hand...I had been working on jewelry all day  Tongue

Wow, the detail is amazing! I don't think I could wear something that big, but I do think it will definitely help protect you in dark alleys.  Cheesy

What an impressive piece of jewelry--great for a first date with a questionable guy..Wink

I love the mix of metal and how you followed the shape of your fingers with the draping body...the detail is amazing--especially the hands!

Bravo to you!

Wow!  Words fail me, what an amazing piece of wearable art.

Love the way his legs drape over the side of your finger.  I would do terrible things to have a ring like that, though I know I'd stab myself with it in the first five minutes.

That is so gorgeous! I too have an interest in hagiography and am a fan of religious imagery. You did a really nice job and created a very cool piece.

I'm wondering - do you know what the legality concerning brass knuckles is where you live? I just ask because I can definitely see an uppity cop getting on your case about this. Particularly with the pointy bit.
