Finch Clothespin Bag

Yes, some of us still hang clothes outside and need a clothespinholder!

Inspired by the cute vintage clothespin holder made by craftylittlemonkey, I used my old ratty one as a pattern and made this!  It is much cuter and will be fun to use outside as I watch the real finches feed at the birdfeeder!

The old one had a small hanger inside which I repurposed.

Very cute and useful! I need to get around to making myself one of these sometime, I just have an old milk jug hanging on my line for clothespins

Very Cute, Always! I actually had those yellow finches in my yard in Joshua Tree, before I moved to PHX.
  I used to hang clothes outside there, but in this desert, you can get tiny
airborne pricklers in your stuff. My grandma found out the hard way, the Doctor had to pull them out of her PANTY AREA! So, not here. Still, very cute and worthwhile project, for the part of the country that doesn't have airborne cactus fibers!

yes i too still hang my laundry out in the garden! i bought one of these and found it had too big a hole so the pegs always fall out - i will follow your sweet example and make my own!

Oh, that is great! I need a clothespin bag too, and you've totally inspired me. I don't have any of that great goldfinch fabric of course, but it made me think of the Baltimore orioles I sometimes see early in the morning. They build interesting bag-shaped nests with an opening on the side, just like you made, so an oriole nest pin bag would be perfect!

I showed my girlfriend my pin bag and she said she had one that was made from kitchen dishtowels!  That is another good idea!

I have seen those bag nests...ha...I hope no birds decide to nest in mine--I better bring it in when I am done hanging the wash!

It looks great. I like the large hole for the pins, some are so small I constantly miss and they end up on the ground.

Thank you--I had to make the hole big enough because if I miss the bag, the clothepins would end up down the cliff!

That is what is so nice about making your own stuff--you can fit it to your real life!

Someone asked me where to get a small hanger like that...I used my old one, but I was told you can cut a regular wooden hanger or even use a baby clothes hanger!  Make one!!
