This is such a beautiful and touching way to remember your grandma.  My great grandma lived through the depression and would take off the lace and buttons from the clothes that were no longer worth keeping.  She kept everything!  My mom now has a box of trim and a box of buttons that I rifle through.  This was such a wonderful idea that I made my mom one of these for Christmas.  Thank you so much for sharing your story and posting this lovely idea!

My grandmother passed in December. She had an eclectic collection of buttons, nothing beautiful or elegant, but a cast variety. I was searching for a way to use the buttons to make something to remember her by, when i came across your wreath!
