A few weeks ago I was watching Coraline and I then decided that I wanted a plushie of the cat. I got on eBay and looked...and then etsy...and found nothing! So I made my own! I paused the movie and played the parts with the cat in slow motion and drew up a pattern of him and sewed him together. I was going to make him clay eyes, but my dog found them and chewed one up so I bought 20mm safety eyes and painted them blue, painted some pupils, and then covered them with mod podge to make them shiney. He's hand sewn and made entirely from black felt squares. I also pulled some fishing line threw face to make the whiskers but I haven't been able to straighten them out very well...oh well he's kind of a mangled kitty anyways with his chewed up ear and all! lol I'm really proud with how he turned out!

Time for pics!!!

Here's my insdie pics...here He is sitting on the bed

Here's an up close of His face he was ever so nice to let me pet him

Here's one for size comparison next to the water bottle

Here's the outside pics. He's slinking around next to the wood pile

And here He is up in the tree

Thanks for looking! Please leave feedback I'd love to know what everyone thinks of him!

how exactly did you make the pattern? I'd love to make one!

I drew it on paper when I was watching the movie in slow motion. He's got very simple shapes. His head is basically a dimond and the good ear is just a triangle and the other ear (the messed up one) is a kind of blob shape with a chunk cut out. I know there's a coraline swap going on and I wanted to post the pattern but I have no idea how to copy it and put it up. Plus I dont know how to enlarge it so everyone will get to have the same size. I did draw him on 8x11 paper thow. one piece of paper per body part (felt squares come in 8x11...well almost lol) If you can find a pic of a halloween cat on online, like the ones that are all scardey looking with their back arched, you'd probabley be albe to do that for the body. I ended up cutting two peices of felt for his body and sewing the top of his back together and then folding the pattern in half where i stoped sewing and cut another peices of felt and sewed it underneath (like the vintage style simple stuffed animals) and his tail is actally two peices, a little is on the body pattern and the rest is a hole other peice so it had to be sewed to the tail base on his body. I feel like none of this is making any sense but I hope it dose for you! lol I think the most trickyist part was his head. Its kind of flat at the top and then gose to a diamond shap at the corners and then comes down and gose very narrow. I reallly hope this is making sense and it helps you. I wish I knew how to put up the pattern! lol it'd be so much easier then me trying to explaine how to draw something lol
