I made this netbook sleeve for my awesome partner in the Newbie Swap Round 13. I used the tutorial from this laptop sleeve, though the flap is smaller because it was for a netbook. I also sewed the lining corners in so it wouldn't pull out.
It was my first attempt at applique, and some of the owl skewed as I was sewing, but I am happy with how it turned out. I used a thickish navy lycra for the outer fabric, so it had a slight sheen and a nice texture. It is kind of hard to tell in the pictures, but the owl and the lining were both made from a shiny lime green velvety fabric. Here are some pics of the front, back, and the inside lining.
