I got my rugs done in time for Christmas!  I made two and gave them both to my mom, and she loved them.  We put them in the kitchen and she had to make sure every visitor that came over saw them.  It made me really happy she liked them.

This is my favorite one.  I forget how big it is exactly, but I believe it's around 24" across.  It's in front of the stove and definitely makes it much nicer to be standing there, since the back door is right nearby and the floor tends to get pretty chilly even when we have the thermostat up.

The second is a lot smaller, the perfect size for a kitty to relax Smiley

I'm thinking my next project will be to take what's leftover from these rugs and make a scrappy outdoor mat for the dogs to have on the porch when it gets warmer.

Good to see rugs made in the round.

Here's my latest, took first place at the fair.

I'm kind of late in seeing this, but I think I'd like to join. My grandma loves these kinds of rugs, and I think it'd make a great Christmas present for her. She owns some big ones made of braided and sewn fabric in an oval shape, like the ones in this tutorial: http://www.ehow.com/how_6646753_make-sewn-rag-rugs.html. I can't wait to scour the thrift stores for some old bedsheets!

Hi Ashgrim! Yes, please do join! I'll be getting active in this thread again soon. Have had a bit of a rough few months that impacted my crafting. Now that the cool weather is coming back, I'll be ready to have a thick rug in my lap again.  Smiley

pinokeeo, that is awesome!!!!

That is a really great rug, pinokeeo.  I can see why it took first place, it's extremely well-made.  Congrats!

Check out this how-to for making a rug using a hula hoop as a frame! Now this I could do...

That's a pretty neat idea for using hula hoops.  I'm definitely going to have to try that!

Four more 'rugs' finished, laying out to have protective spray put on them. Made as seat cushions for our dinning room.

Yes, they all look a little different because I used all stash materials.  Smiley

Take at look at the back. This is my third project and I finally feel as if I have the hang of making it look nice, front and back.
