Here it is, my first crocheted rag rug attempt...and Molly, my good friend's dog:

I have cut up the next sheet and will be working on it tomorrow.

I love the colors! I have no patience for making circle rugs, just because of the counting, but I love the way they look

Pixi...I'm sure there are more than two errrrrrrors in there!!! Cheesy  I miss'd the count so many times!  I don't see it getting much bigger after this next color.  Also, it is much like my crocheted half-circle (w/yarn) rug...count, count, mess up, rippit, and count!!  Roll Eyes

Kittymom13, those colors are so pretty!  I love the blue, especially Smiley

Here's my own first attempt at a rug.  I actually really like crocheting in the round, LOL, even though I botched the decreases a bit because the gaps are too big.

When I go home for Thanksgiving break I'm going to make a trip to the Goodwill or a nearby thrift store so I can pick up more sheets/old fabric to finish this and get started on another one, rectangular this time.

Kittymom13 and writer_crafter, I love your rugs!
I really, really need to get some of my older sheets cut up. There is a great thrift store in my town, but I need to de-clutter what I have first. I can't wait till I have more time again.

I haven't been able to get it through inter-library loan yet, but I have heard that this is one of the best books on crocheting rugs that lay flat. I will probably end up buying it one day, once I'm out of financial crisis mode. Diana Blake Gray is an expert on rugs. I really like the other books of hers.

Thank you, writer_crafter Cheesy  I like blue, too, but pink is my fav!  These just happened to be at the thrift store whispering to be made into rugs!!  Last Monday in fact, and later I found the destash along and the rag rug-along!!!   Grin  So now I am looking to seriously destash and make rugs!!  It will get easier,  the crocheting and counting...I've done several yarn rugs, so this is very similar!

thank you for the linker, LL!!  I have found 3-3 more sheets to cut up after I finish this project, too!!  Horder, here!!!

All finished up w/ a little of the third sheet left over...that will become a mish-mosh of a scrappy rug!

I'll take my time cutting up strips and getting to work on my next project w/ holiday crafting to do!!

Kittymom13, I love it!

I'm trying to work on a rug that I started on my knitting loom, and I'm going to see if I can set a goal of knitting at least an inch a day on it until it's done. I can't wait until life slows down again and I can get back to my projects. I'll try to put up a progress pic later on today. Smiley
