Masquerade -ing

Ive never been to a Masquerade Ball before and have always wanted to go to one.
A few months ago I finally got my wish

 I wanted to make my mask - but after a few attempts I realised that I actually hate wearing masks.. 
 hehe - but I figured if it was just on my eyes and not covering my nose and mouth then I could deal with it

 I had a small porcelain mask sitting at home (bought in Venice !)
and decided to incorporate a 'mask into my mask' !

 I sprayed it silver - added feathers - a head band
 and some more detailed paint and here you have it :
 
 

 I used A LOT of hot glue, superglue and more hot glue
 to attach the head band to the back, and the feathers



  This was just a head piece with no mask yet.
 I made an eye piece that was seperate and also sprayed it silver
 With the eye peice seperate from the head piece, it meant I could take off the mask
throughout the evening but still have most of my creation still on

 Here is the whole thing together

It's gorgeous. I really like the feather choice! I've always wanted to go to a masquerade, too!

Are you making more?  It does look like a lot of fun.

I would love to make a V mask... although I know I can buy one easily.

 Well at this stage no, not making any more. If I ever go to another masquerade ball I will though

  I did also make a 'hat' for an Alice in Wonderland Tea Party a few months ago though

 I think you should have a go at making your own V mask   buying is too easy

Yeah I agree.  A paper mache Vendetta mask would be awesome.

Hmm not sure if I saw that Alice in Wonderland hat... I'll go check the posts.  Were you the mad hatter? lol
