When I first saw Bee's Knees' lovely pattern "Sunburst Lion" http://www.beeskneesactivities.com/images/downloads/embroidery/2010/Sunburst%20Lion.pdf, I just knew that I had to stitch it! And since both my siblings are born in August and therefore Leo, the happily beaming lion would be a perfect birthday card. While I stitched him on thick paper (cardboard for watercolor paintings), he told me, that he also has a little brother. He is a little show-off like many little brothers, so I could only capture him roaring. Smiley

I had to free hand draw the pattern on the back, because I couldn't get my printer to print on the cardboard and I was to lazy to trace it. That's why the lion is not as cute as the original and has less sunbeams with longer strokes. (again my laziness kicked in)

I'm not quite sure, what I will do with the back side. Shall I glue it to a bigger card in a different color? Or just a same size cardboard? Ordinary paper is not working, because the back is quite bumpy and you can't write properly on it...

Those are great! I'm so honored that you used my pattern. Those are exactly the colors I had in mind when I created it. I really adore his little brother, too. So cute!
