hi craftsters!

I am in the process of making a reversible apron, and I have the cutest fabrics to use for each side (as seen below). My problem is that for the life of me, I cannot pick out a fabric to use for the straps. On the apron I made before this, for the same person who then paid me to make her another which is this one, I used the same fabric on both sides for the straps. Unfortunately, I believe my camera is buried, so I do not have a picture of the first apron.

I am willing to get a new fabric, but it would have to be from Joann's because of time constraints and a lack of other fabric shops around here. Luckily, they show their fabrics online!

I was thinking maybe something red? it needs to be something fun at least. color... let me know! I am so stumped!

These are the fabrics I am using for the apron, blue daisies on one side, green with ladybugs on the other:

on my computer, the colors are true to the fabric, though the lady bug red should be slightly brighter. they also match the pictures on joann's website. at least the blue does, I can't find the ladybugs.

Maybe a green or pink? Could be green or dark green on the ladybug side and pink on the flower side.. or else just one color for both sides. Yellow could be cute too.

I was thinking pink, too. but then i think it would not go well with the red (i alwyas hated that combination)

I was also thinking yellow, but I had no yellow fabric to hold up and see what it would look like. I think yellow would go great with the daisy side, and i don think it would be horrible with the green side either if i can find a good one

Yeah, I'm not loving the idea of pink on the ladybug side either.

i think either red or yellow might look best. should I go with a pattern?

I did originally get a pink fabric, when i was using something other than the lady bugs. it has a slight pattern to it, but not at all distracting. I think if they have it in yellow?

Pattern or plain yellow would be great I think. I'm trying to picture red but I'm not sure how much I like it on the blue side. Is it like a half apron?

I say a green is your common color, and go with the same strap (two sided) for both. Something that compliments on either side.  Smiley

there is very little green on the blue side though, and i thought it might be too much green on the green side.... (yay green!)

unless i find a darker green that would work well, in the same family as the greens on the ladybug side.

I vote for green.  A darker green that would pick up the leaves on the daisy side, and complement the green on the lady bug side, something in the lime family.  I also think a very vibrant, bright pink would look okay with both, but then the red and pink doesn't bother me.  Red would look really pretty, too, but it'd start to lean toward Americana on the daisy side.  Not that that's a bad thing...  I don't think yellow would look as good on the ladybug side.  And I DEFINITELY think you should go with a solid.  Good luck, and let us know what you choose!

well, i will be going to joann's in the morning to see what they have! I will look at greens i think first, then maybe yellow, then red.

I am pretty sure I agree on the solid color thing... too many patterns going on if i have another one!
