I told some people in my last plushie thread that I would post this recipe Smiley I made it today for my mom's birthday, and it's soo good! O_O

Here are the ingredients - The full instructions are on my website.

Ingredients

18 Pitted Dates (I had the big block of dates, so I just estimated as they were all stuck together)
3/4 Cup Skim/Non-dairy Milk
1/4 Cup Pure Maple Syrup
1/4 Cup Unsweetened Apple Sauce
1 Cup All Purpose Flour
1 tsp Baking Soda
Optional: A few chopped walnuts to sprinkle on top of cake before baking.

Yummmmmmmm!

I must give this a go. I love vegan cooking - and with soy milk this would be an easy vegan dish.

Yeah - When I can I always try to have vegan options for my recipes. They are always vegetarian no matter what though.

Thanks guys! Smiley I'm not a big dessert-maker, but this is truly a good one and pretty healthy as far as cakes go.

Peace xo

Oh crap, I forget! I've had that avatar since like... 2004. I have never watched anime, but I always liked that animation. There was a time when I knew what it was from. :\ Maybe someone else knows.

This looks really really good and I want to give it a try. I don't use my oven in the summer though. I'll have to wait till fall. (I have bookmarked your great website.

Question: Do you think this could also be made with prunes or other dried fruits?

I feel you there... sometimes I kick myself for using the oven in the hottest time of the summer. T_T Though I really want to bulk up my website with recipes before university starts up again, when I won't have as much time to be updating it.

And prunes should definitely would work, too! Perhaps using mostly prunes and then a smaller amount of other dried fruits. I'm sure it would still taste really good... might not have as much of a "datey chocolately" taste, but that's ok. Smiley

Really glad to hear that you're liking the site so far. <3
