I would totally dig this! Smiley

Although, I'm new to sewing and bag making!

So am I. I'm going to get a sewing machine very soon- so I'd have to do a test bag for myself first.

Sounds like fun, but I've never hosted one before either.  Is there a manual?

I'm pretty sure I will be joining if this gets off the ground. So is it going to be another Fill a Purse swap, or just a Purse swap?

Sounds like fun, but I've never hosted one before either.  Is there a manual?

Yep, there's the Swap Info Guide (http://www.craftster.org/swapsinfo.html) which has info for both participants and organizers, and the Tips for Organizers (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=47204.0).... and I wouldn't mind helping out if you want assistance, I've done a few Wink

I was reading some of the other posts and saw the one about the option to do a large bag, and I thought I'd share with you how another swap worked that I recently participated in.  (it was also a bag swap).

This is just to give you an idea of what you could do - you can take what you like & leave the rest - I'm still in no matter what!!  Smiley

We had to indicate a few things on our questionnaires to help us get matched up.
1)  Size of bag to give/receive:  small (clutch/wristlet), medium (purse/handbag), or large (tote bag).
2)  Favorite types of bags in this size (i.e. if I picked medium, I might say Flossie Teacakes Tabitha Bag and Made by Rae Buttercup Bag, etc)
3)  Favrorite fabrics (i.e. I like linen, and funky cottons such as Moda's Hunky Dory, Flea Market Fancy, etc...)
4)  Things that you DON'T like (i.e. Dislike batik and holiday theme fabrics, dislike short handles - prefer a bag to hang at elbow length)

This all helps your partner make some decisions about what to make for you!!

And then, of course, there's the fill-up part of the swap.  You'll want to figure out some good questions for filling up the bag, too...  Favorite snacks, activities, accessories, books, etc...

So that's my 2 cents.  Hope it helps.

I'm very excited about this swap and I'm definitely participating!!  I already have 4 styles of bags that I have been dying to make and I am BURSTING with ideas for the fill-up!!  Smiley  Let's go, baby!!
