It's been a really long time since I touched a sewing machine and even a longer time since I've been on Craftster.org. If I'm correct.... a "long time" actually means since 2007!! My mind came across the site over the weekend and decided to take a visit. I was completely inspired by all you ladies (and gents?) with all of your unique creations. I decided that it was time to grab my sewing machine, go to a local fabric store and start sewing again.

It wasn't easy for me to jump back into the habit for I forgot the little things like how to pull up the bobbin thread!! But after a few Youtube videos... it all came back to me and I started on my first project.

I really wanted a maxi dress so I grabbed 4 yards of silk and made this!

I'm really happy with the results, especially since I haven't touched my sewing machine for so many years.

First off welcome back to craftster. I find so much inspiration here that it is crazy.
Second I just love the dress. So cute and out of silk you say. Crazy cute. Did you use a pattern of did you just wing it? Would love it if you used a pattern cause then I could make one too. But just love it.
