We're going to Movieworld on Saturday to just catch the last day of the 75th Anniversary special of DC Comics. There's a long story, but that's on my blog; to cut it short we're dressing up!

I made the boy's outfits first. Batman ((my kid)) and Superman ((my friend's kid))

Lol Superhero poses ((they are both 14 months))
With Superman's shirt, I reconstructed an old blue shirt of my mum's, with Batman's, everything is from scratch.
Their capes are detachable

Sometimes, being the Dark Knight is lonely.
Batman's cape has the batman-ish edge to the bottom. It was a real pain to sew! Superman's is just straight across

Batman helps out around the Batcave

World's Greatest Detective? Where?
Their leggings and Superman's pilchers were purchased. Everything else was made by me this afternoon. Their logos i did with felt ((WONDERFUL INVENTION)) and their capes clip onto their shoulders with press-studs. Their utility belts are just yellow stretchknit stitched to the bottom of the shirts with a yellow felt oval in the middle for a buckle. I did it all freehand, drawing the emblems onto paper to use a stencil. Let me tell you I am keeping those patterns for EVER. They were so crazy to get perfect, but I think I did a damn good job!
Batman's hood is lined, and I cut two holes in the outer hood to stitch his little bat ears into. I love it, so cute. I was kinda bummed Superman didn't need some sort of disguise to protect his superheroism because I think the hood looks great!

Superman has little red boots to wear on Saturday. Vince will prolly wear skate shoes, because he's cool like that! hha. I also need to make him gauntlets!
Now I'm off to make mine, my husband's and my sister's outfits! YEY ((i.e. stay tuned!))
