I bought a table at the salvation Army today. It was a good solid base with metal tipped feet and a glass top over a wood base. It could be pretty but alas, it was beat up Sad

So I bought it for $15 and took it home. The height was perfect for next to my reading spot in my front living room. I bought a sage gray paint and spray painted the base. I then tried thin blue fabric for the top but hated it. The husband mentioned using book pages like another project in my house and so I did. I didn't glue them down, just put them under the glass section, let it leak over the top of the sides, smooshed the glass on and then used a razor to cut the excess paper off.

I heart it. It's the perfect pair to my old couch that I'll recover sometime. The gray sage color matches curtains in my bedroom, my shower curtain and some pillows so it goes well with the rest of the house too.

Okay so once again I am completely redoing my pictures. Got tired of photobucket, the only reason I used it was for here so I decided I will just use Craftster's photo uploader. So while I am switching over my photo links will be broken. Message me if there is a post you would like the pics for.

This is a gorgeous project! So creative! I'm moving to a new place soon and I've been searching Goodwill stores for furniture to makeover, and I love this idea so much!

Definitely check out your local goodwill or other thrift store. Some of them are insanely expensive, but some are cheap (the way thrift stores should be imo). Also, if you get to know your local people, they end up giving your deals on stuff. I don't know how many times I'm told that $x is too much for something I'm buying and they mark it down.

That table was good and solid, just needed a face lift. There's tons of stuff like that at thrift stores too. Paint, wood filler, and a couple nails can go a long way Smiley
