I made this for my husband's friend who has a baby in the NICU. Its pretty small, I used a blanket that was similar in size for the base of my son's isolette when he was in the NICU. It is also a perfect fit for the bottom of the bassinet, the infant carrier, or may be a good doll blanket one day.
I used blue scraps from my collection, white wool felt for the turtle, and white bias tape for the name.
I used this tutorial to do the hexagon background, it was much easier than I thought it would be http://www.ladyharvatine.com/2010/03/hexagonia.html

This is so adorable. I love all of the fabrics and the way you wrote the baby's name.  I'm sure it will bring comfort to Chase and his family, hope he gets to go home soon.

The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese. . . . I would rather have cheese.

Adorable! Love the turtle, and the way you wrote his name, hadn't thought of bias tape to do that! Very smart! Love it! I'm sure they will too!

OMG!! I love this!! Hardcore like, no really if instead of "chase" it said "crafty" I'd steal the quilt, baby quilt or not. Hmm there is a blank spot on my wall.

On a serious note I hope your friends baby is doing well! ICU is scary without the N in front, fingers crossed.
