Hey fellow Craftsters! Long time no post (although I've been lurking around to see all the pretty things). I have a Q.

My loving boyfriend created a lovely painting for me. His medium of choice is chalk pastels and he does wonders with them. However, he wanted to experiment with pastel on canvas for my gift. It turned out very nice, but I'm concerned about the longevity of the artwork. As you know, pastels can be messy and on a primed canvas, it doesn't adhere well. He gave me a can of fixative and told me to spray it several times a day. But how many times do I have to spray it before it's protected from smudges and dust? I asked the woman at the local Michael's store and she said that canvas can't be mounted under glass. Any solutions, my friends?
