I love to make hats, and so recently bought a vintage hat stand /head form to display them on. However, I humorously discovered that when I put a green hat on my vintage head form it looks just like, Lowly Worm, a character from Richard Scarrys beloved childrens books!  Cheesy

When I realized this I told my husband, who promptly made a paper eye and mouth for my form so now it really looks like Lowly Worm! We both got a good laugh out of it and we hope you do too. Ive also included a picture of my green cloche hat not on the form. ..two very different looks.

Swoon.

I saw Lowly Worm in the pictures on the front page and said, out loud, for all my coworkers to hear, "It's Lowly Worm!"

Beautiful hat!

Im so glad you all have enjoyed my Lowly worm hat photo. To answer singersulivns questionI do use a patterns for the basic shape of the hat, but the more familiar I become with the pattern to more creative license I take with it...sometimes with very humorous results as you can see.  Grin
