I found this large wodden tray at Ac Moore's this past weekend for $10 marked down from $29.  I grabbed some pink rose clored paint and painted the whole tray.  I took a calendar I had bought just for the pictures and glued them to the tray.  the pictures are from the Tainted Ladies Calendar sold at Borders... I love it!!  The little saying around them are hillarious.  I used the ones saying bad things about men on this one and the next one I want to do is one in blue for a man, talking about how men dont like what we cook.

Is that calender made by Anne Taintor?  I love her and the "Pain was too good for him" looks familiar.  I didn't know she made calenders.  Hmmmmmmm.  I think you just made my day.

I love it!  What did you glue the pictures to the tray with?  Ordinary white glue?  Also, what did you put on top of your pictures to "finish" them with (so they stay new-looking)?  They need to be sealed with something to preserve them, don't they?  What?

I have wanted to do this FOREVER as a mothers day gift but I wanted to do mine based on pricey units I saw in Pottery barn that came along with a removable/replaceable sheet of glass.  I asked my grandmother (who used to frame pictures) where I could buy a custom-cut sheet of glass and she said most hardware stores.  But we couldn't come up with any good way to secure the glass in the bottom of the tray besides finishing nails.  Any ideas, anybody?
