Success!  I was able to get pretty, not-expanding-like-marshmellow-Peeps-in-a-microwave bombs last night by cutting out the water entirely.  Hooray!  Thanks, everybody!  I'd post pictures, but they're pretty bland-looking.  Maybe I'll learn to make cool ones.

OMG no - don't use those spices in a bath bomb because they are even worse in a bath bomb than CP soap..... think extreme pain, burning and stinging.

Aw, I was afraid of that.  I love cinnamon and clove so much!  Do you think I could have success with a spicy FO, or would it be just as bad?  (I made some orange spice ones with EOs that didn't burn me, but you could barely smell the spice.)

Ooh, also: are bath bombs okay for kids to use?  I have a fair tomorrow, and I anticipate some questions.

Orange is fine but it will sensitize you to the sun's rays as will all citrus EO's.  The can be a skin irritant as well.  You're better off staying with FO's because people are less likely to react allergically to them than they are to EO's.

Good luck with your Fair!

Ooch, glad for the warning.  I'll dig around my FO stash and see what I can come up with.

What's the lower age limit, do you think?  I wouldn't recommend this for babies... maybe 5+?

Thanks again, guys!  You're the best.

considering there's not much in it that would cause irritation..I'd say 5 is ok..my kids started at 3 just for the change of bath water color factor.. Smiley

I wanna try making bath bombs too! I think I'll have to take the advice on this thread into consideration because I live in Queensland "The sunshine state" summer is pretty hot and fairly humid... would you believe that its winter right now and at 8.30 am Im wearing a singlet and we dont have heating!

When it comes to bath bomb moulds is 1 enough?

Yep.  MareMare's (awesome) tute has you unmold each bomb as you make it, so one is plenty.

Good luck!  I hope you won't get Magical Growing Bath Bombs....

Try not using any water in your bath bombs.  I use Sweet Almond Oil only, plus a little FO and then spritz with Witch Hazel until they will hold together when I squeeze it together.  I live on the west coast (BC Canada) right on the ocean so I know about humid... LOL

Do you have a nice recipe that you wouldnt mind sharing?
