My sister-in-law made me a really nice sconce with a Victorian Lady Skeleton in the center.  I found another one at the Goodwill and decided that I'd make more of them and fill one of the walls in the living room with them.

First I painted it black with Glitter accents. I started with a picture I really loved by an artist on DeviantArt called MirrorCandle, turning it to grayscale and printing it out.

It came out like a coloring book piece which was great. So I colored it with watercolor pencils and cut it out

Then I put coffee grounds all over it, probably a little too much but I like it

And so more of the result

And in the frame

Cute! I love the black glitter paint.  Grin Do you put candles in it?

I would but there's no glass over the pic and I don't want it to catch on fire  Grin

Wow! That is fantastic! I think you used the right amount of coffee grounds. And what a good idea to use them! What a neat project!

"Wicked" is the right term, but so is "pretty".  I'm not sure about the glittery paint, but I love the Alice in Wonderland image you choose and how you thought to age it.

You can always display a candle in the sconce, without ever lighting it. If you don't like the never been lit wick look (some consider it to be bad luck even... who knew?) you can always light a taper away from the sconce and then put it in.
