So my friend and I are really into the Death Note series. And when I say really into I mean love with all our hearts  Grin (okay I'm exaggerating there)

Anyway we're planing on going to the next anime convention we can and we really want to be Death Note characters. And I'm planning to be Misa Amane. However I can't find any good pictures of her from the anime or manga. Can someone please help? Also I'd like them to be before the four year gap. You know when Misa still wears gothic clothes.

I think it's helpful to find either actual scans from the manga (if you have the book in front of you, obviously just look in there) or to watch some clips from the episodes (take screen shots - I believe the series is on Funimation's site). Try googling "misa amane figure" too. Figures are a pretty good reference for some more recognizable outfits. Though, after trying a couple different google searches and not finding many full body shots, I think taking your own screenshots would be your best bet... that way too you'll have images of exactly the outfit you want.
That's what I suggest based on my reference picture hunting experiences, but maybe someone else knows of a collection of misa images I'm not aware of  Cheesy

I hate to sound like 4chan, but google image search. it's not that hard. I typed in Misa, and this is just a few of what i got-

it just take a few minutes to actually search, or screen cap the episodes yourself. that's why i do for cosplay ref.
