So I made this design for myself, it's my second silk screen/stencil ever. Last time I did it by hand, this one I created on the computer, stenciled and screened (tutorial at bottom) but I do Love it! I think any big BSG fans will as well

I also screened it onto fabric and then made the shirt myself

Here's a farther away image of the front....

And this is the back

And here is one I made for my brother because I think it's funny and he likes nerdy/funny things...
Screen on the front (there is a little smudge, I'm sad!)

And then I cheated and used an iron on transfer for the back...

Close up for any hardcore fans

And here is the tute and the tools. I mixed stenciling and screening.
So first I made the stencil and printed it. I used an Xacto knife kit and a "self healing" sewing mat thing..... this was on totally normal paper, I think if I used a tiny bit thicker... like cardstock, it might not have left smudges

And after an HOUR of careful cutting...

Next I lay it on the shirt on the floor

Then I lay the silk screen ON top of the paper ON the shirt

I used my body weight to hold it down and applied some fabric paint on top of the top of the paper on the screen...

Then used the squeegee to pull the paint down over the screen like a normal silk screen! but being VERY careful to not let the paint go over the paper

And ta da! The only crappy thing about this technique is it is single use. But I'm all about one of a kind!

Comments, Questions and Criticism welcome, I am totally new to this, but I love it!
