I am also in love with the blue dress with the sheep!  Just adorable.

Aww, thank you all so much! <3

I really like what you've been doing!  The heart cut-outs are really sweet, but I'm in love with the yellow dress at the bottom.  Pattern notes/tutorial/any sort of guidance for the lazy who aren't particularly good at drafting that style of dress?

Thank you! Actually, I messed up a lot on the yellow dress, particularly on the collar & the sleeves, making it kind of uncomfortable to wear! I don't have much experience making button-down fronts, so I guess my best advice would be to take apart a fitted button-down shirt & recreate the pattern pieces! I made this one with a zipper down the side, & it's a struggle to get into, so when I make it again I'll probably leave a bit more room in the waist & just make a matching sash belt. But, yeah, cut apart an old button down, and remember that interfacing is your friend! (I didn't have any when I made this because I was at college, but it would've helped me so much!)

I love them! I've been wanting dresses like this for ages. Very beginning sewer, tho. Any suggestions? (particularly for the 2nd, 4th, and last dresses) Cheesy

Aw, thanks! I guess my best suggestion would be to pinch & pin & baste & repeat until the pattern fits! I made a couple basic patterns that work for most of what I make, & then i just alter it then to be how I want it, but getting the fit you want is everything. & just dive right in. In general, & not necessarily pertaining to those three dresses: keep trying things, read tutorials, try commercial patterns, & get friendly with your seam ripper. Smiley

oh, and only handsew your bias tape if you have to! Machines are wonderful for a reason, haha!

Oh man, I love that sheep dress!  And the car you're posing with in a few pictures.

Eco-friendly items, patterns, hippies, and more.

I'm on Ravelry, too!
