I know it's summer, but I thought I'd get a jump start and make my little nephew an adorable winter hat. so here it is!

I like the shape of hoods better than hats, they're easier to knit and they keep the ears and neck warm, not just the head. So I made this in seed stitch for the head part and then stockinette stitch for the neck wrap part. It's made of Lion Brand Nature's Choice Organic Cotton Yarn in Walnut. It has three cute blue buttons, so that as he grows he'll hopefully still be able to use it just buttoning less of the buttons.

and here he is in all his cuteness modeling for it. (the photo taken right after this he's bawling and trying to take the hat off because it's too hot!)

It's a too big right now, but hopefully he'll grow into it...

I love it! I need to make something like that for my two girls, I'm constantly pulling their hats over their ears when we're outside lol
