A couple of years ago (yes... years!!) i got inspired by this post http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=237796.msg2609869#msg2609869 and asked my mom to pixelate a photo I had taken of my son when he was a baby.

I then bought a square 1cm punch and started matching tiny squares punched out of magazines to my "pattern".

Two things I learned while completing this project:

- Colors as you see them in magazines are totally different once isolated into a small cm square... What looked purple turns out to be gray, etc...

- People are WAAYYYYYY too tanned... Pretty much all of the skin was done using parts of white objects or the portions of models' faces that caught the most light i.e. nose, forehead, etc...

It took a long time and I'm so glad I got it finished... My family admitted once it was over that they thought I would never get through with it... and honestly... neither did I! Took about a year and a half of on and off (mostly off!!!) work...

Since in my house I always see it from a distance, may look better if you squint a little while looking at it    Wink

WOW! From the thumb nail I thought it was one of those picture cross stitches Smiley I would love to try something like that. It does make a wonderful piece of artwork for your wall.

Time is an illusion. Lunchtime, doubly so.

Thank you so much!

It was a lot of work but well worth it, I encourage you who are inspired to give it a try!
