This is so cool. I have a question though, CDs have a side that you write on or that there's album art on (do you understand what I mean?). Did you scrape that off or does it melt off or what?

I just tried this an it didn't turn out nearly as bubbly and cool as yours but it still turned out pretty nice. I'm not sure what I'm going to do with the pieces though.

I've found that different CD brands generate different results, some have big shiny bubbles others produce millions of teeny-tiny bubbles. The results vary and with any and every craft of this nature trial and error is the only way!
