ok i think i have to sign up for my first swap!  Cheesy  i'm catholic so it seems to suit me.

question:  can anybody give me any kind of ideas?  whats the budget?  i can't sew worth a flip (yet),  but things i AM good at making:  the infamous marble magnets, anything w/felt, embroidery, melt 'n pour soap, journal making, jewelry, etc.

are we allowed to exchange ideas?  do i even have enough talent to participate in this swap?

this just seems too fun not to do.  Undecided

you have so many talents! marble magnets are great and i have seen them as necklaces,  melt and pour soap, can't you insert little plastic marys? or laminated pictures? journal making is pretty awesome too!

i was planning on making a stencil of guadalupe, maybe a decoupage box, i also found this weird tin at xmas time and have been waiting to use it for something, hmmm . . .

(you only have to make 2-3 items, depending on time and intricacy etc (sp))

yeah, i can't remember who (too many talented people on here) made a felt cover for a wooden box.  so that gives me an idea. i didnt know if they always had to be really special stuff like fancy purses (which i can't really make unfortunately, i'm trying to learn though).  i thought about the virgin mary melt 'n pour soap... i saw some fantastically bright and tacky fabric at joann's last week of the virgin mary.  i already bought 1 yd b/c i knew i was going to use it for this.  Cheesy  psychic

so...lemme go PM you with my info.

I'm signed up! (I am aren't I? I worry b/c one of the last swaps I signed up for I never got a reply and got left out. It was very sad.   Cry ) But I like the soap idea, and I still haven't figured out what marble magnets are, although I am going to go look it up in a minute.  I was thinking of doing maybe 1 or 2 things without the actual Virgen de Guadalupe image but maybe things that make you think of it, like candles in bright mexican colors or something using tissue paper flowers in bright colors. I actually have a 12 inch picture cut out of the Virgen de Guadalupe that I snagged from my neighbor's trash when they moved out a few weeks ago. It was sitting at the top among broken picture frames and empty cereal boxes and whatnot and so pretty I had to grab it. I knew I find something to do with it, hehe.
