Hello! This is a sew-along type thing...

OKAY!

My goal...and yours too if you'd like...is to create one complete, unique outfit each week this summer.

Here are my guidelines:

1. I've gotta sew a complete outfit each week. Bottoms and shirt or dress.
2. Include jewelry, bag, or something of the sort.
3. Design it before I make it. As in, draw a picture (I've gotta get my designing skills down)
4. I've got to wear the complete outfit sometime the following week and snap a photo to prove it!
5. Document to whole stinkin' thing!!!!!!!!

I'm excited!

If you'd like to join me just send me your blog, website, or just post your outfits here!

This could be really fun!

Like I said, I will be posting everything on my blog.

Thanks!

ERIN

If we are not quite designers yet can pieces that we create using patterns count?

Hi!!  Long time lurker first time poster.  lol [grin]

Anyways, I made a little schedule for myself a little while back and was thinking I should stop procrastinating and try to get to it.  I made it up so every week I'd have some sort of project done.  Maybe a shirt, or a jewelry piece.  this post may''ve been what I needed to start that.  [roll eyes]

Now I wonder where I put that calendar... [undecided]

This sounds like fun and the kick in the but I need to make some of the stuff I have fabric stashed away for. Would altered clothing count or would it have to be completely from scratch? Is it cheating if I already cut the pieces out a couple of months (or a few years in one dresses case) ago?

This is a dead-and-never-very-active thread, but I think this sounds like a FANTASTIC kick-in-the-pants for me. And timely, since the summer solstice--and therefore the first day of summer--is coming up this weekend. I'm very much an amateur and a beginner, so I'll be working with patterns and altering old clothing and so forth. Mainly, I'm inspired by how worn out and falling apart my current wardrobe is, and I don't have the funds to replace it. So it's due time to do so. Also, I've been making lots of children's clothes for my midget (well, technically my best friend's midget, but I don't have one so we share *haha*), but no adult clothes at all.

I think I'll get materials and such together and start this coming week, the first official week of summer. Anybody want to give this another shot?
