So during my very first bit of time lurking here at Craftster I came across the coolest purse ever! http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=190912.0

I knew as soon as I saw it that I had to have one of my own. My only problem was that I didn't know how to crochet.... So I begged my mom to teach me enough to get the job done, took about 7 different trips to Joann's (want to hear the sad thing? I was working there at the time and not one of those trips was during work!) and about a week total later had a finished project! Mine is a lot bigger than the original that inspired me, but I also like to have a lot of room for books and whatnot. I've had so many compliments and have even had a request for a monster diaper bag from a friend for her expectant daughter.

Without further ado, here is Mayhem!

Super cute!  I love the big eyes!  I don't think I've ever seen one crocheted....I've been meaning to learn for a year now since my mom does it too and I can knit.  Was he fun to make?  (Or is it she?)

Wish on everything.

Super cute

Creating something from nothing is the most theraputic thing in this world for my soul.

It looks great, I am impressed that you used fun fur for your first project, it can be difficult to work with for the seasoned crocheter, really awesome job!!

Oh wow! Good job! And fun fur for your first project? I tried using it for a bushy tail on a rabbit amigurumi (my first project) and couldn't see at all what I was trying to do. It's taken me only another couple of years before I think now I would finally have the courage to face that evil yarn again.

So if you can handle that and keep your cool, you're doing awesome!
